Non-binary or nonbinary is a spectrum of gender identities that are not exclusively masculine or feminine‍ and exist outside of the gender binary. Some use the term “non-binary” and “genderqueer” interchangeably, but some argue ‘genderqueering’ is a deliberate queering of gender to make a political statement.
